Dearest Mother: / Arrived O.K. Had a very nice trip. Fred is working so I went out around town this morning. Am going to have my hair done this afternoon. It is curious, isn't it? I can't decide if the tone of secrecy was really intended or not. Perhaps we're just misunderstanding the message, perhaps misled by the brevity of it? In any event, we'll never know.
