When the Hotel Sherman closed in 1973, it was the longest continually operating hotel in Illinois. College Inn, located inside the hotel, was a jazz venue where many folks heard the genre for the first time.
I always appreciate the rare hotel that has a garage under it. Really nice postcard. A "GARAGE" must have been a rarity back then being that the word is blasted on the side of the hotel.
