With Malice Toward None, With Charity Toward All

Lincoln Memorial

Uncirculated
Published by the Capitol Souvenir Company, Inc.

Postcard Caption:
No small part of the effect of the Lincoln Memorial on an American is the giant statue of the Great Emancipator. Abraham Lincoln is represented in a flag-draped chair, with his head bent slightly forward as in thought. The figure by Daniel Chester French is 19 feet high and is made of 20 blocks of crystalline Georgia marble perfectly interlocked.
"I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice,"
~Abraham Lincoln

I'm with you Mark! I'm lacking in the presidential department. Great postcard of the Lincoln Memorial. I was there not too long ago. Very impressive.

I would like to see the Lincoln Memorial in person some day. Great juxtaposition of the veteran and the statue.
