[FRONT]: Beauties On Board United States Warship
My grandpa served in the Navy during World War II, and it seemed that he and his shipmates always had dogs around. I have some of the amazing photographs taken by my grandpa of some of the canines who served. The top photo shows Seabag. I don't know the name of the dog in the bottom photograph. The Washington Post published an article on official, working military dogs, but I do not know if there is an account of the informal friendships sailors and soldiers develop with  dogs in the field.
