This is an adorable pug-as-photographer postcard from 1901. Since I don't know German, the message remains a mystery to me. I put "bitte recht freundlieh" in google translate to which I received "please pretty friend lent." I'm pretty sure that's not what the correspondent had in mind!

'Bitte recht freundlich' means something like 'Smile and look into the camera'.
