Dear Peg: The room I have here is just about as nice as where we stayed Andrew Jackson and only 4.00 No air conditioner just a ceiling fan. GeoVanishing America has a reproduction of this postcard, as well as before and after photos of the block where the hotel was located. At some point, the hotel was demolished.

Four dollars, and no air-conditioning? Outrageous! I'll bet a room with a/c cost $4.50.
