Picking Flowers

Picking Flowers

Uncirculated

This painting, "Picking Flowers," is attributed to Samuel Miller and was created around 1845. Interestingly, the postcard I have lists the artist as "Anonymous." The painting is in the collection of the Fenimore Art Museum, Cooperstown, New York.

Primitive paintings are great, aren't they? I suspect they used the term "anonymous" where they should have said "unknown". The Samuel Miller attribution was no doubt surmised long after the postcard was published.
