This is a beauty. The people on the card seem real and animated vs. some cards where they are stiff and probably drawn in. A true gem.

My grandpa told a story about when he was a kid - he worked for a barber shop on Washington, which is just a few blocks away from the area represented in this PC. One day, he was wearing a sandwich board advertising the shop and walking up and down the street. Some drunk men spilled out of a bar fighting, and all of a sudden, a knife hit the sandwich board. That was Grandpa's last day! Or so he said...

Christine...normally, I would put aside a streetcar postcard to send to you, but I had to have this one because it's Ardmore!

I can make out where the streetcar tracks ran on the later photo. Interesting comparison!

great postcard - I'm a real sucker for any images with trams in them. I'm lucky to live in Rome where trams are still operational. I think the date reads 1913...

Nice comparison...Also, the way the letter C is written in several places on the back has graphological significance.

Wonderful card. The street used to be livelier - no cars and more pedestrians and the tram is great. They are still many tram lines in my city too (Amsterdam). They are not as cute as on this postcard or the ones in Rome, but thety are comfortable. Happy PFF.

The yesterday and today comparison blows me away! Bring back all the brick buildings. And the streetcar, too. Great story about your grandpa and the sandwich board deflecting the knife. Whew!

I too like the before and after! Great atmosphere on the card - I can almost hear the tram bell clanging as it goes along. :)
